That is incorrect. You are conflating this with a promotion Duolingo is promoting on every single Twitch channel, regardless of whether or not you can subscribe to a channel (you can't even subscribe to the OOTPD Twitch channel; that functionality isn't enabled). In fact, the "drops" referenced in the message are not drops for OOTP, but rather drops for Duolingo. Source:
