September 4-6, 2034: vs Chicago White Sox (3)

Game 1: 3-1 W. WP-R.Rodriguez (4-6). Starter-Najera (6.2 2 0 0 3 5). HR-E.Bell (5), Soto (6/16). Soto's been lousy since coming over in trade but came through big tonight with a 2-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th after R-Rod blew the win for Najera by giving up a homer of his own in the top of the inning.

Transaction: Nelson Haro comes off the IL and Kyle Deckard is returned to Durham.

Game 2: 5-4 W. WP-Lennon (12-9, 6.1 3 1 1 2 9). S-R.Rodriguez (27). HR-Soto 7 (17). Lennon was brilliant and the Rays hung on after going up 5-1. R-Rod got the save but gave up a homer for the second straight night, this time a 2-run blow to get Chicago within one before getting the final out. Gurrola was 4-5 with a pair of doubles and runs scored and Soto might finally be heating up with another 2-run homer, the 528th of his career.

Game 3: 6-4 W
. WP-Salazar (3-1). S-Ogando (5). Starter-Fragoso (4 7 4 4 3 6). HR-K.White (43), Rutschman (24). Another terrible start from Fragoso put the Rays in a 4-0 hole but they battled back to take a series sweep. A 4-run 5th turned around a 4-1 game with Rutschman's 2-run shot getting them within one and White's 2-run blast putting them ahead to stay.

Team record: 83-57, and they've now opened up a hefty 5-game lead on the Jays and it's time to start talking magic number (18). Next up: A day off then Kansas City comes to the Trop for 3.
