Ian Shortt outpitched Ty Johnson over 6 innings. Shortt allowed 0 R on just 3 H, while the Outlaws got to Johnson for a couple of runs.
It looked like this was how the rest f the game was going to go until 22yo Eduardo Beltre hit a solo HR in the 7th and then tied the game with a double in the 9th, sending the game into extra innings, where Hentges would get knocked around, allowing 3 runs after loading the bases with a single, walk, and HBP. Whitlock entered the game and allowed all 3 inherited runners to score on 2 hits.
