The Minnesota Twins defeated the Kansas City Royals, 4-2, in American League action at Kauffman Stadium. The standout performance was by Minnesota pitcher and Verona, New Jersey, native David Festa. Festa earned the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked none over 6.1 innings, giving up 2 runs. Jhoan Duran secured his 36th save in 41 chances. Jose Caballero, who is tied for 5th in the AL in stolen bases with 33, had a direct impact on the game. Caballero contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Minnesota ahead, 4-0. "Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Caballero. "You've got to get results." The first-place Twins are aiming for a deep playoff run.
