Cards news:July 15 -- 2B Boston Baro and C Jimmy Crooks are National League All-Stars
The St. Louis Cardinals have learned that for the second consecutive season second baseman Boston Baro and catcher Jimmy Crooks have been named to the National League roster for the All-Star Game.
Baro was selected by the fans as the NL starter at second. Crooks will be a reserve for the second straight season.
Both seasons the players have been the team's only representative in the Midsummer Classic.
Baro, 24, is hitting .273 with 10 home runs and 42 RBIs in 90 games/85 starts this season.
The 27-year-old Crooks has played in 75 games/72 starts during which he has hit .284 with 10 homers and 50 RBIs.
