Alex Suarez could have been an absolute legend of this sport… if NMLB would’ve been founded five years earlier. Being 28 when the league was founded, the right-hander pitched until his age 41 season, and pitched effectively until the last year. A 3x Cy Young winner and 10x All-Star, his career numbers say: 193-121 3.66 2014K 459G/439GS 59.5WAR and, his most prized possession, the 2007 World Series Ring with the
Boston Aeros.
Drafted 7th overall in the first NMLB draft,
Alex Hernandez was one of the first young rising stars that came out of the draft, finishing third in the EL Rookie of the Year voting before going on to win three MvP Awards, 6 Gold Gloves, 4 Silver Slugger Awards and getting named an All-Star nine times. His stunning .365-24-137 .999OPS 42/50SB 9.7WAR season in 2005 not only netted him one of his MvP Awards, it also paved the way for his only World Series Championship, and the only championship of the
Washington Nationals. Finishing his career,
Hernandez was a .330/.383/.516 162 HR 1126RBI 1171R 2409H 436/513SB 70.5WAR hitter in 1906 games, most of them with
Washington(2002-2014).
