Cards news: Dec. 12 -- Rays and Cards complete seven-player minor-league deal
The St. Louis Cardinals and Tampa Bay Rays have completed a seven-player trade with four players coming to St. Louis and three going to the Padres.
Coming to St. Louis are:
* SP - Robert Castirotta -- A 23-year-old right-hander, Castirotta split the 2028 season between rookie ball and Class A Chattanooga.
In 11 games/all starts, he was 3-3 with a 7.10 ERA.
Castirotta was drafted by Tampa Bay in the 10th round of the 2027 draft.
* OF - East Winfield -- A 23-year-old outfielder, Winfield split the 2028 season between Rookie and High-A.
In 93 games/79 starts, he hit .350 with 13 home runs and 70 RBIs.
* C Enderson Delgado -- A 24-year catcher, Delgado split time between AA Montreal and AAA Durham.
In 88 games/all starts, he hit .212 with three home runs and 28 RBIs.
A three-time Gold Glove winner, Delgado was signed as a free agent out of Venezuela.
* OF Milo Rushford -- A 24-year-old, Rushford split time in AA with two different teams after being traded from Kansas City to Tampa Bay in July.
In 122 games/all starts, he hit .248 with 16 home runs and 48 RBIs.
Rushford came into professional baseball after being drafted in the 12th round by Kansas City in 2022.
Going to Tampa Bay are:
* OF Andru Arthur -- A 23-year-old left fielder, Arthur split time between AA Springfield and AAA Memphis.
In 94 games/39 starts, he hit .377 with three home runs and 31 RBIs.
Arthur signed with St. Louis as a free agent out of the Bahama in Jan. 2024.
* SP Hayden Frank -- A 25-year-old left-hander, Frank split the 2028 season between Low-A Palm Beach, AA Springfield and AAA Memphis.
In 23 starts, he was 5-11 with a 5.58 ERA.
Frank was signed as a free agent by the Cubs in July 2024.
He was traded to the Cardinals in Oct. 2027.
* 3B Al Salinas -- An 18-year-old third baseman from Venezuela, Salinas has yet to make his professional debut.
