I'm all for some "house rules" but this would be ridiculous for me to basically not be able to use two features of MLB. Teams are built around the fringes on the waiver wire IRL, and the rule 5 draft allows players blocked in top stocked systems to get a shot at service time with a team who could use them. I could never just not use those two.
That said, I can't ever play without being in commissioner mode to help mitigate bad AI decisions and reversing the worst ones if necessary. That may seem beyond the pale for some people like I view not using waivers and the rule 5 draft. But it beats the alternative of just not using certain systems that exist in real life.
To each their own.
