Game Summary – May 29th – Twins Defeat Royals, 6-5
The Minnesota Twins defeated the Kansas City Royals, 6-5, in 11 innings in American League action at Target Field. Minnesota pitcher Pablo Lopez had a standout performance. Minnesota, at 32-24, is 5 games up in the American League Central Division. The decisive blow was delivered by Ryan Jeffers in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 33-year-old right-handed pitcher Chris Stratton to win the game for Minnesota. The home crowd went nuts.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Jeffers.
Fans were treated to a great game tonight. I hate to be on the losing side of it, but we had extra innings to get it done and didn’t. Came close because our bullpen held us in it. It’s my fault since I feel I should have been more aggressive running the base paths. So, this one's on me.
