I only recently became aware of betting odds — for goodness' sake, they are in one's face all the time if one frequents sports web sites or views sporting events these days — and not that I am interested in betting, but I find some mentionables here.
As far as I can tell, the market believes the Brewers will clobber the Marlins later today and the Rockies will almost certainly fall to the Orioles.
Now, since the protocol is to list the home team on the bottom, plus odds are used instead to indicate that the home team will lose, according to the odds. So the Dodgers will rampage at Fenway and the White Sox will succumb to the Cubs in whatever their ballpark is named now.
As far as the "o" number, that is over and under the total number of runs, I believe? They range from a low of 7.5 in the Mets-Giants contest to an anticipated slugfest of 10 in Yankee Stadium. Do people actually bet on this stuff? How boring.
Speaking of boring, I have succeeded in boring myself, and you in the bargain. End of post.
