Covenant Repeats as MML Champions
In what could be a preview of a Sole Survivor Series featuring their CBO parent teams, the Covenant Refractors and Mayoral Shelter Tricentennials met for the first time in the Massachusetts Minor Series. Each of at least one of these two teams had been there every year since 2311.
In the end, the Refractors pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the Massachusetts Minor Series in a hard-fought series with the Tricentennials.
It was a seesaw affair, but with a 7-6 victory at Boston Shelter Field, Covenant lay claim to the franchise's 2nd championship.
"There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Animal Isstick. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today."
The champs finished the regular season 61-47 and claimed first place in the Legends League Wade Boggs Division.
A victory parade is set to be scheduled in Covenant in the days to come.
Each of the Refractors (2313-2316) and Tricentennials (2311-2312, 2316) have been in every Massachusetts Minor Series since 2311.
