DRAFT DAY!

And the Jays have the #1 overall pick!

The Mock Draft had us taking Mariano Madrid, and while he is intriguing, we decided to go with Pedro Garcia.

1. Pedro "Pugger" Garcia. 22 year old 1B from Hawaii via La Salle College in Philadelphia. Plus-Plus Eye. Raw Power. Projects as a perennial All Star.

Madrid ended up going #4 to St. Louis.

2. Antonio Ayala. 20 year old CF from Delgado JC in Texas. Elite pure hitter with average power and competent defense. Should be an above average big leaguer.

3. Hector Nunez. 18 year old RF from Bowling Green HS in Kentucky. Above average potential in both power and contact. Could be an above average OF once he develops.

4. Esteban Garcia. 22 year old CF from George Fox College in California. Above average power potential as a switch hitter while also having good contact and solid defense. Projects as a Big League starter.

5. Dave Arscott. 18 year old LF from North County HS in Missouri. Upside of middle of the order power with a good eye. (Potential problem: he is demanding a high contract considering where he slots.)
