With the way the bullpen has been going I would have rolled the dice with Skubal for one more hitter rather than going to a reliever. I with a runner on third those curveballs that spike 5 feet in front of the plate always have a chance of getting away. Skubal doesn't throw anything like that. Even if the runner was on second I would have felt better about Tyler coming in there. With a guy on third though, I’m letting the ace get out of his own situation.
The offense, like you mentioned is going through it. They don’t seem to be as patient as they were a month ago at the plate. That may be me just looking for a reason though. I have nothing to back that up.
