Musashi, it isn't that the AI teams cannot develop players as much as it's prospects deteriorating before they have a fair chance of development. This occurs when it's minor league system gets overloaded with players - if you have 2 great 1B in A-ball there is a greater chance for negative development for at least one of them (the one that is not getting any playing time). Push that number up to 3 and it's no longer a question of if but when . The human player has a strong advantage just by making sure his own minor league systems are not overcrowded.
