Cards news: August 18 -- Elbow injury sidelines SS Masyn Winn, Wetherholt called up from AAA Memphis
The St. Louis Cardinals have placed shortstop Masyn Winn on the 10-day injured list after he injured his elbow during a 4-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on August 18.
Infielder J.J. Wetherholt has been called up from AAA Memphis.
In 111 games/105 starts, the 25-year-old Winn has hit .253 with five home runs, 47 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
Wetherholt, who was a first-round pick in the 2024 draft, has played at AAA Memphis this season.
In 83 games/78 starts, the 25-year-old has hit .244 with 10 home runs and 42 RBIs.
