Last year, Paul Skenes had made 11 starts for a 1.90 ERA. He was some 28 innings short of qualifying for the ERA title, with 89 strikeouts in 66.1 innings. There was no outrage about his nomination that I recall.
Misiorowski has an ERA almost a full run higher and is 69 innings short of qualifying for the ERA title. Five games, 33 strikeouts in 25.2 innings. The ideal All Star for a generation that can only take in anything if it's pre-chewed down to a 60-second clip for them.
I wonder how many kids have come up and posted similar numbers, especially the 2.81 ERA, and two years later were all but forgotten as flashes in the pan.
