Prospect Review

MLB Farm Ranking

Quality over quantity, which isn’t Stewart’s long-term strategy, but the Giants rocket to the second-best farm in the league off the back of pitchers International Amateur Luis Burgos and 1st round pick Pete Lamar.

San Francisco Prospects

The Giants now have 7 Top 150 prospects and over 20 in the Top 500. Stewart is beginning to increase the depth of the talent in the Minor Leagues with quality investment in coaching and development.

Personnel

The Office of the Commissioner has informed you that the following staff members of the San Francisco Giants have left the team because their contracts ran out or they have been promoted:

1B Coach Jesus Petit

Petit is the only departure from the Giants coaching roster this offseason. With no appropriate coaches in the Minor Leagues (the Giants need a Catching Coach specialist) they will look outside of the organisation.

Retirements

In addition to the Giants Bobby Daniels, several prominent players called it a day in 2052. The Dodgers retired Josh Contreras’ #27 jersey, the SP ending with 205 W, 3296 K, and 68.5 WAR. Perhaps more surprisingly, The Kansas City Royals finally retired a number as Luis Danys Rhodes calls it a day and #80 will not be worn by another Royal. Rhodes ends up with 286 SV and has 941 G, with a 2.83 ERA and 37.1 WAR. He put up 20.7 WAR with the Royals across 8 seasons but Stewart can’t help but feel that Bobby Witt Jr. and Edgar Mir both made bigger contributions to Royals baseball.

Owner Goals

Two new goals for Stewart from owner Quivers – to produce another .500 season and to improve the Bullpen ERA. Stewart believes these will go hand in hand and is happy to commit to both of these goals.

Finances

You will have $246,000,000 available for the total team expenses. Given your current spending on staff and other costs, this should allow you a team payroll of around $160,000,000.

A $4m increase in budget from owner Marquis Quivers means the Giants can retain high investments in development and scouting, while still having funds available for investing in the team.
