International Amateurs
We just completed our monthly private practice with many young international amateur free agents who we hope can aid our club in the coming years. It was great to meet the players in-person and get to know them better, and I was able to improve my scouting assessment on all invitees.
In fact some of the players impressed me, since they showcased a higher potential than I had previously expected from them:
Rodolfo Ramos, 16 year-old 2B out of Dominican Republic
Lean and athletic, Rodolfo Ramos hails from San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic. He shows tremendous raw power. He projects to hit for .290 batting average because of his above average contact potential. He is expected to be a defensive asset as a second baseman. Scouts project Ramos to fill a key role for a contending team in the big leagues.
Daniel Mandujano, 16 year-old SS out of Venezuela
Lean and athletic, Daniel Mandujano hails from Valencia, Venezuela. With his potential he will be a threat to hit the ball out of the park every time he comes to the plate. He can make hard contact which should translate to a .250 batting average. Mandujano probably won't be a star but he should still be a solid contributor.
It was a great practice and none of the invitees disappointed in showcasing their talent.
