Preseason & Spring Training

It was a bombshell to start preseason as Colin Stewart announced this 24th season would be his final one in Kansas City. Having won four World Series and 10 American League titles, Stewart felt the time was right, and the club was in the right place, to hand over the reins. It was not lost on anybody present that this year the Royals have the chance at a 15th straight AL Central title, which would break the Braves record for consecutive division titles. If Stewart wanted to give motivation to his team, they have been given the best possible goal of sending Stewart out on top of the baseball world.

The Royals start out a perfect 5-0 to start Spring Training, a Spring Training with places up for grabs after the off season turnover. Ben Lane’s absence for most of Spring Training gives Joe Teichner a non-roster invite to start in a 6-man rotation with another couple of non-roster RPs invited to supplement a young, but exciting, 42-man ST roster.
