Game 2: 2-1 W. WP-Acosta (4-2, 5.1 2 1 1 1 8). S-R.Rodriguez (10). HR-Hardy (9). Great pitching enabled the Rays to squeeze out another close one against Texas with Hardy's solo homer the difference.

Game 3: 3-6 L. LP-Buckman (6-3, 3.1 8 4 4 1 4). HR-White (12). Buckman continues his unusual for modern baseball pattern of getting a decision in every start he makes although this was the bad kind of decision as he was hit hard for the second straight start. The offense continues to be ugly.

Team record: 29-26. 5 1/2 back of Toronto in the division and WC2, a game behind Seattle and a game ahead of the Yankees. Next up: Oakland visits for 3 games.
