Offseason of Retirements
The original crop of CBO players has seen its numbers decline so much so that almost none will make the 20 years cut in 2317. At 20 years of the full CBO, though, there are six who have declared, at least for now, one more season: RP Aaron Geneva (Obe), CF Millioncap Go (Lex), RP Brent Hooker (SI), RP Sheng Kawolski (ST), 1B Ben Pettinato (V81), and LF David Seaweed (ST).
University Point lost the most big names to finish out their careers and has announced the retirement of all three players' numbers:
4 - SS Austin Engill - .253/461/1341 - The first #1 overall pick, Engill has had a stellar career, starting with the Abernathy Adamantium from 2296-2302, getting traded midseason and then playing for the Deathclaws from 2302-2310 where he won two championships, and then finishing with Egret from 2311-2315. The ten-time All-Star finishes in the Top Ten in the following categories (228-2315 stats): Runs (10th at 1325), Home Runs (5th at 439), RBI (8th at 1233), Walks (4th at 1393), WAR (9th at 65.94).
17 - SP Tony Bertha - 229-148, 3.63 - After a stellar season where Bertha recorded a 14-8 record with a 3.72 ERA, Bertha decided enough was enough, and he will return to Far Harbor for a post-playing career. The former 22nd-overall pick in the 2296 Inaugural Draft, Bertha played from 2296-2299 with Sunshine Tidings before being traded to Salem during the 2299 season and playing there from 2299-2303, havbing a 13-game stint with Goodneighbor in 2304 befor being traded midseason to the Claws where he finishied his career from 2304-2315. He won 148 games with University Point, which on its own would rank him 30th in wins. In actuality, Bertha is Top Ten in multiple career categories: Wins (4th at 215), Games Started (7th at 480), Complete Games (8th at 45), Shutouts (T-3rd at 22), IP (6th at 3195.0), Hits Allowed (7th at 3160), and WAR (9th at 69.48).
37- RF Tomas Jones - .331/388/1396 - The 23rd overall pick in the 2296 Inaugural Draft, Jones started with Nordhagen Beach from 2296-2299 before being traded early in the season to the Deathclaws where he played from 2299-2312, and finished with the Chemists from 2313-2315. With the Claws, the two-time champion and five-time All-Star hit 323 home runs, which alone would rank him 29th all-time. With his official count (372), he is 14th. Top Ten rankings for Jones in career stats include: Batting Average (7th at .327) and RBI (5th at 1304).

Diamond City - #54 - Josh Samm - Samm now has two numbers retired with the Swatters. He previously changed his number from #24 to #54 when Swatters owner Moe Cronin wanted to honor all numbers from pre-War for the Boston Red Sox inside the Great Green Jewel. Samm finishes his career tied for 2nd in saves (389).
Concord - #22 - Dan Erb - The 9-time All-Star played with the Radstags from 2296-2306 and then Salem from 2306-2315 in his 20-year career. His Top Ten finishes are: At-bats (9th at 7149) and Total Bases (7th at 3705).
County Crossing - #16 - Biter Trout - Trout is a 14-time All-Star and one of the best stroke hitters in CBO history. His Top Ten finishes are: Average (3rd at .336), OBP (3rd at .444), Singles (1st at 1702), Walks (6th at 1220), and WAR (5th at 75.65)
CBO Records
There were not a whole lot of season records broken or tied in 2315, which can be expected as time goes by. Those records this season were:
Games played - tied with 14 others - 130 - 1B Sheedy Smith, Jamaica Plain
Strikeouts (hitter) - 187 - SS Greenie Jamison, Starlight - Jamison broke the record by 34 strikeouts (Dan Neo, 154, 2299). The 12th-overall pick in the 2314 Draft, Jamison was forced into a bad situation with the Killers. On the bright side, he seems to be a boom-or-bust hitter, finishing the season tied with Barker Cocoa for the CBO home runs lead (33).
Complete Games - 15 - SP Heaven Fontenot, Diamond City - Fontenot outdueled Paul Stains' 2310 record of 14, also at the time with the Swatters.
Hits Allowed - 274 - SP Hrye Caje, Malden - The year 2315 must have been a hitter's haven with 10 pitchers all breaking or tying the previous record of 250 set in 2310 by Matt Bowman and Zaire Inquisitor. Caje's 274 outpaced Oberland's Emperry Alizm, who finished with 266 hits allowed.
Players of the Year - NEBL
PL Hitter - The future looks extremely bright for Pie Trainer. At the age of 22, many players are still trying to find their way in New England Baseball League.
Trainer has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the Patriot League Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .338 this year, that's for sure," the left fielder said.
The Manchester Granites star also put up a .398 on-base percentage this year, with 102 hits, 22 doubles, 5 triples, 15 home runs, 50 RBIs and 52 runs scored.
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 28. Weston DeGurlz of the Abernathy Adamantium finished second in voting with 7 first place votes, while Sardar Agiashvili of the Medford Radguards finished third with 8 first place votes.

YL Hitter - The manager of the Worcester Cannons said he thinks Barbarus Bailey is only going to get better as he gets older.
He may only be 21, but it will be hard to top the third baseman's 2315 campaign, as he has been named the winner of the Yankee League Most Valuable Player Award.
His winning campaign featured a .357 batting average and a .440 on-base percentage this year. In 71 games he piled up 92 hits, 20 doubles, no triples, 16 home runs, 52 RBIs and 45 runs scored.
He received 26 first place votes out of a possible 28. Keg Gutterson of the Wellesley Wanderers finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Adavald Vigilant of the Fall River Rippers finished third.

PL Starter - Danny Gamez of the Marlborough Firemen was on cloud nine during the 2315 season, mystifying most of the hitters he faced, then capping it off with the Patriot League Pitcher of the Year Award.
Gamez was spectacular in 12 starting assignments with 6 wins and 3 losses, 78.1 innings, 57 strikeouts and a fine 1.38 ERA.

YL Starter - In the twilight of his career, Wicked Good O'Malley has no intention of going anywhere anytime soon. The 35-year-old Cannons starter hoisted up the Yankee League Pitcher of the Year Award earlier today, silencing critics who thought it was time for the "old man" to retire.
O'Malley crafted an ERA of 2.20 as he won 10 games, dropped 4, fanned 77 and gave up 73 walks in 139 innings of work.
He received 25 first place votes out of a possible 28. Jesse Fraud of the Plymouth Pilgrims finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Kent Rothschild of the Wellesley Wanderers finished third.

The 30-year-old was a dominant performer all year for Burlington and his efforts have been rewarded with the Patriot League Reliever of the Year Award for 2315.
The bullpen ace had an impressive 1.52 ERA this season, with 8 saves in 47 relief appearances. He fanned 34 batters in 53.1 innings and sported a record of 6 wins and 2 losses.
He received 28 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Dust Aguila of the Lowell Sentry Bots finished second in voting, while Grits Burse of the Marlborough Firemen finished third.

He compiled a record of 7 wins and 4 losses and had a 1.79 ERA.
He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 28. Hard Luck Harley-Davidson of the Worcester Cannons finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Jack Arasmith of the Sandwich Bay Snakes finished third.

SL Hitter - At the age of 24, Malik Keil of the Dedham Bombers could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2315 was good enough to win the left fielder the Stars League Hitter of the Year Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .338 batting average this year, as well as a .422 on-base percentage. He played 81 games and racked up 101 hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 14 home runs, 65 RBIs and 50 runs scored.

SL Starter - The votes have been tabulated for the 2315 Stars League Pitcher of the Year Award. It has been given to Arwen Gonar of the Brockton Irish, who piled up 15 wins this season with an impressive 2.68 ERA.
In 22 starts Gonar had a 15-5 mark with 84 strikeouts in 157.2 innings.

The reliever was today named the LL Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2315.
He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 5 saves in 46 relief appearances and 32 strikeouts in 54.1 innings. He had a record of 4-4 to go with his 1.49 ERA.
He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 28. Otar Mad of the Marblehead Grenades finished second in voting with 13 first place votes, while Cole Trick of the Lawrence Revolution finished third with 1 first place vote.

SL Reliever - At the age of 21, Ryder McPride says he still has a lot to learn about life in Massachusetts Minor League.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Bridgeport Gulchers reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2315 Stars League Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the
Beverly, Massachusetts native said.
For the season, McPride had 27 saves in 48 relief appearances, which totaled 55.2. He fanned 52 betters, while walking 18 and put up a record of 5-3 to go with his 2.10 ERA.
He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 28. Just Up Velez of the Springfield Operators finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Wild Mouse Vavoom of the Mayoral Shelter Tricentennials finished third with 2 first place votes.
