CBO Association Semifinals Round Results

NCA - #4 Bunker Hill 75ers vs #1 Lexington Synths

Game 1: Bunker Hill 2 Lexington 1

Road Win Lifts Bunker Hill to 1-0 Lead in ASF

The Association Semifinal Round got off to a quiet start, with the traveling Bunker Hill 75ers taking a low-scoring, 2-1 win over the host Lexington Synths. Bunker Hill right-hander Jalep Temper was marvelous at Super Duper Mart Stadium. The 75ers now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

Temper was in the zone all game. He frustrated Lexington hitters while giving the 75ers 7.2 innings of quality work. Temper threw 89 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 7 punchouts.

"I was able to change speeds effectively tonight," said Temper.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Super Duper Mart Stadium in Lexington.

Game 2: Lexington 8, Bunker Hill 7, 10 inn.

75ers Hammered by Sykes, Drop Game 2 to Synths

The Association Semifinal Round is tied at 1 games apiece, thanks to a dramatic walk-off victory at Super Duper Mart Stadium for the Lexington Synths.

22-year-old catcher Shawn Sykes was the star for Lexington, as he was 2-2 with a home run, 3 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once in the Super Duper Mart Stadium contest. The 8-7 Lexington triumph allowed the team to even the best-of-5 series with the Bunker Hill 75ers at 1-1.

Sykes delivered a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the tenth to win it for Lexington. In the contest, Sykes was 2 for 2 with a home run, 3 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Sykes, "and then get after it again."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 11th , 2315 at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston.

Game 3: Bunker Hill 13, Lexington 9

Gaycey Blasts Synths, 75ers Take Game 3, 13-9

The Bunker Hill 75ers moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series, downing the visiting Lexington Synths at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium by a score of 13-9. 75ers first baseman Zod Gaycey did some major damage. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 9. The win gives the 75ers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.

Gaycey contributed in the bottom of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Bunker Hill get the win.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Gaycey, "one at-bat at a time."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston.

Game 4: Lexington 1, Bunker Hill 0, 11 inn.

Synths Clip 75ers, 1-0, in ASF Contest

The Lexington Synths defeated the Bunker Hill 75ers, 1-0, in Game 4 of the Association Semifinal Round. Doing his part was starter Hunter Kim, who threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The win moves Lexington into a 2-2 tie with Bunker Hill in the series.

Kim allowed no runs over 7 innings. He also racked up 8 strikeouts.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Kim.

Game 5 is scheduled for Tuesday at Super Duper Mart Stadium in Lexington.

Game 5: Lexington 16, Bunker Hill 3

Lexington Advances to Association Championship Series

With a narrow 3-2 series win, the Lexington Synths have eliminated the Bunker Hill 75ers and are Association Semifinal Round winners.It is the first playoff series victory in Synths' team history.

"We tried not to look ahead to the Association Championship Series, but we thought we'd be there for sure," said third baseman Tommy Whitetiger, who was named series MVP.

Lexington won the final game by a score of 16-3, wrapping it up at Super Duper Mart Stadium.

Whitetiger's big series saw him hit .391 with a .440 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The Lexington Synths will play against the Easy Town Assaultrons in the next round. Easy Town won their series against the Salem Witch Hats 3 games to 2. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.



NCA - #3 Easy Town Assaultrons vs #2 Salem Witch Hats

Game 1: Salem 6, Easy Town 2

McGhee Excels, Salem Wins Association Semifinal Round Game 1
The Salem Witch Hats started the Association Semifinal Round in style, downing the visiting Easy Town Assaultrons at Vim! Park of Salem by a score of 6-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Witch Hats left fielder Jig McGhee was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.

Salem right fielder Thatch Heard helped the Witch Hats go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Heard hit a run-scoring single off Easy Town pitcher Tarzan Rogers.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," McGhee said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Vim! Park of Salem in Salem.

Game 2: Salem 2, Easy Town 0

Salem Pins 2-0 Loss on Easy Town

Jaa Thirtysix pitched a gem to help the Salem Witch Hats escape with a tight, 2-0 victory over the Easy Town Assaultrons in a low-scoring Association Semifinal Round contest. The left-handed Thirtysix threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball in the win, just enough for the Witch Hats on a day when their offense dried up. Salem now leads the best-of-5 series 2-0.

Steve V-Rock broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the second with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Witch Hats in front, 1-0. For the game, V-Rock drew 1 walk in 3 plate appearances.

"Things aren't going great right now," Easy Town manager Malik Christmasstory said. "But you don't need me to tell you that."

Game 3 is scheduled for Saturday at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.

Game 3: Easy Town 8, Salem 7

Easy Town Breaks Through for First Win in Association Semifinal Round; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the Association Semifinal Round, the Easy Town Assaultrons put on their best show, beating the Salem Witch Hats by a final score of 8-7. Passive Mitch Porter was special. He went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Easy Town now trails Salem 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.

The Assaultrons were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 21-year old second baseman Halep Gutteridge landed a big blow. He turned a full count sinker from Gary Harvard into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Easy Town Field denizens into a frenzy and sent the Assaultrons home with a thrilling 8-7 win.

"It's a huge change in atmosphere versus last game," Gutteridge said after the win. "I feel like we're back in the mix now. We just can't let up."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Easy Town Field in Easy Town.

Game 4: Easy Town 2, Salem 1

Assaultrons Clip Witch Hats, 2-1, in ASF Contest

The Easy Town Assaultrons and the Salem Witch Hats will take the Association Semifinal Round to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Assaultrons beat the Witch Hats, 2-1, at Easy Town Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Easy Town left-hander Tarzan Rogers had a big role in the win. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 1 run.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Albie Cannibal came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Salem pitcher Gary Harvard, he hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Easy Town on top, 2-1.

"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Rogers.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 14th , 2315 at Vim! Park of Salem in Salem.

Game 5: Easy Town 6, Salem 4

Assaultrons Win Association Semifinal Round
The Easy Town Assaultrons players streamed onto the field at Vim! Park of Salem in jubilation, while heads were hung and few words were spoken in the Salem Witch Hats clubhouse at the conclusion of the Association Semifinal Round.

In a series that had a bit of everything and went the distance, Easy Town won the final game 6-4 and the series 3-2.

"It's hard to describe what we're feeling right now," said Easy Town left-hander Tut Cadillac, whose strong pitching performance in the series garnered him MVP honors. "You square off against a good team like Salem and anything can happen. Both teams deserved to go on, but thankfully it's us."

For the series, Cadillac had a 1.93 ERA over 4.2 innings pitched. He added 5 strikeouts with a 2-0 record.

The Easy Town Assaultrons don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Lexington Synths - Bunker Hill 75ers series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.



SCA - #4 Diamond City Swatters vs #1 Vault 81 Dwellers

Game 1: Vault 81 6, Diamond City 5

Rathmann Helps Vault 81 Take Association Semifinal Round Game 1

The Vault 81 Dwellers started the Association Semifinal Round in style, downing the visiting Diamond City Swatters at CURIE Inc. Field by a score of 6-5 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Dwellers right fielder Joe Rathmann went 2-2 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 3 times.

Had Pockets Wrench not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Wrench hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Dwellers.

"Feels good to get the job done," Wrench said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.

Game 2: Vault 81 6, Diamond City 5, 12 inn.

Vault 81 Takes 2-0 Series Lead Behind 4 RBIs from SS Yamada
When the games really matter, the Vault 81 Dwellers put on their best show, beating the Diamond City Swatters by a final score of 6-5. End Yamada went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Vault 81 now leads Diamond City 2-0 in the best-of-5 affair.

Batting in the bottom of the 12th, six-time All-Star Phantom Vargas had a real shot to win the game. Diamond City pitcher Flimflam Fanglethorpe was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Vargas hit a run-scoring single. The Dwellers had a walk-off triumph.

Vargas said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."

Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at The Great Green Jewel in Boston.

Game 3: Vault 81 7, Diamond City 1

Vault 81 Wins Association Semifinal Round
It's a sweet sweep for the Vault 81 Dwellers and they have won the Association Semifinal Round. The Diamond City Swatters were not able to keep pace with the Dwellers and dropped the series in short order, losing, 7-1, in the deciding game.

"This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Diamond City manager A-Juan Rodriguez.

It's now on to the Association Championship Series for Vault 81 after their 3-0 series win.

Leading the way for the winners was center fielder Aaron Wright, who was named MVP. For the series, Wright hit .455 with a .538 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Vault 81 Dwellers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Quincy Gunners - University Point Deathclaws series. University Point leads the series 2 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.



SCA - #6 Quincy Gunners vs #2 University Point Deathclaws

Game 1: University Point 7, Quincy 2

Association Semifinal Round Game 1 Goes to University Point, Thanks to Dylan

The University Point Deathclaws started the Association Semifinal Round in style, downing the visiting Quincy Gunners at Hallucigen Stadium at UP by a score of 7-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Deathclaws left fielder Pop Dylan was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.

There was more than one reason the Deathclaws beat the Gunners, but Dylan's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-1 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.

"This was a nice win for us," said Dylan. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Hallucigen Stadium at UP in Boston.

Game 2: Quincy 10, University Point 4

Fee Blasts Deathclaws, Gunners Take Game 2, 10-4

With center fielder Duff Fee leading the charge, the Quincy Gunners got a road win over the University Point Deathclaws, 10-4, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round. Fee was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 at Hallucigen Stadium at UP to help Quincy force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.

Alchemist Hall went 2-5 with 2 singles against the Deathclaws. With the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Quincy in front, 4-3.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Hall. "You've got to get results."

The next game is set to be played for Friday, September 10th , 2315 at The Stone House in Quincy.

Game 3: University Point 10, Quincy 3

Road Win Lifts University Point to 2-1 Lead in ASF

The University Point Deathclaws moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series, downing the Quincy Gunners on the road at The Stone House by a score of 10-3. Deathclaws left-hander Tony Bertha had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Deathclaws a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.

University Point used a well-timed hit by Rock Rampage to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Deathclaws ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Solid performance from our side," said Deathclaws manager Mark Sellsword.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Stone House in Quincy.

Game 4: University Point 11, Quincy 1

Deathclaws Advance to Association Championship Series

Fans at The Stone House saw the Association Semifinal Round come to a close today, as the University Point Deathclaws defeated the Quincy Gunners by a score of 11-1, and advanced to the Association Championship Series.

University Point won the series 3-1 and will now continue their march toward the Sole Survivor Series.

"It feels good to be moving on, I can't deny it," said first baseman Barker Cocoa, who was named series MVP. "Not everyone thought we'd make it this far."

The University Point Deathclaws will play against the Vault 81 Dwellers in the next round. Vault 81 won their series against the Diamond City Swatters 3 games to 0. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.
