June 8-10, 2057: at Seattle (3)
Game 1: The Rays were swingless in Seattle, managing only four hits as the Mariners shut them out 4-0. Jorge Barraza (4-7) gave up runs in each of the first two innings but settled in to finish a solid 6 8 2 2 1 5 before Victor Boria gave up a couple more which didn't matter since the bats couldn't do anything.
Game 2: Tampa Bay finally won a game on this road trip thanks to another dominant Dave Rose performance as they got by Seattle 6-1. Rose (9-2) went 8 4 1 1 1 9 with his only blemish an RBI double off the bat of recently-traded former Ray Vinny Colon. Meanwhile Rose's mates with the bats hit a quartet of solo homers to back him: Angel Gonzales (#10), Jesus Avalos (#21), Alex Gonzalez (#4) and Paul Mayes (#4).
Game 3: The Rays dropped the finale as they were blanked again by the Mariners 3-0. This time they did manage 6 hits and drew 6 walks but left everyone on base, a total of 11. Steve Swords (4-5) took the loss, giving up a trio of solo homers including one to Mr. Colon.
Team record: 41-25. Luckily the Yankees are in a slump as well and they stayed 3 back after losing 2 of 3. Next up: A welcome return home where they'll square off for 3 against those very New Yorkers.
