Owner Goals
Winning the Championship and building a dynasty are the two expected goals for the coming season with Sherman also looking for Dusty Glick to be extended in 2050, which is a more challenging goal as Glick is already looking for $136m for a 6-year contract which includes his last two years of arbitration.
Finances
The Royals budget tops $300m for the first time with another $4m increase. That will give some breathing space but the payroll is currently the 4th highest in baseball with the 8th biggest budget so the Royals may have to make some tough decisions to keep the financial flexibility that has allowed the pitching reinforcements over the previous three seasons.
I have just decided on your budget for the upcoming season.
You will have $302,000,000 available for the total team expenses. Given your current spending on staff and other costs, this should allow you a team payroll of around $230,000,000.
Personnel
Congratulations!
After careful consideration, I have decided to extend your contract with the Kansas City Royals. Your new contract is for 4 years and a value of $2,800,000 per year.
Regards,
Jeremy Sherman
