This is a tough one and I am on the fence about it.

Athletes should win without making unseemly demonstrations. One definition of sportsmanship is "fair and generous behavior or treatment of others, especially in a sports contest". That means refraining from celebrating one's perceived greatness to the point where one is humiliating defeated opponents.

[And I don't care if you, reader, don't care about other people's feelings. You should and I do.]

On the other hand, it's just a dumb kid who did something dumb. It was just shooting off a fire extinguisher in an act that wasn't even original. Nobody was hurt, physically or emotionally. But it's the idea. What's next, lobbing cherry bombs?

The punishment does seem out of proportion to the infraction. Yet in this case, what other penalty for this misconduct can there be?
