The Kansas City first baseman collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 6, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Kauffman Stadium.

So far this season, Mattson has compiled a 11-2 record with a 2.99 ERA.

It was a good month for Columbia Fireflies third baseman Mike Mott, June's Carolina League Batter of the Month.

Mott starred by hitting .439 with a .526 on-base percentage. He totaled 36 hits in 82 at-bats, 9 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 18 runs.
