So...I've run into another of these teams. San Francisco Terriers. Entire roster blank, 1-72 in Entry Pool. No understanding this, but it's hilarious seeing a white line head steadily downwards in the division graph. It's also interesting that Jim Unknown is an average baserunner with average fielding range. Both are at 0.0.
There is one way I can see this as an exploit. I beat this team 23-0 two games ago and picked up almost 2000 achievement points, so it's possible that someone is creating these teams in order to increase the number of PP awarded. Scheduling is supposedly random, so it wouldn't be a direct benefit, and I didn't see any of the earliest league entrants benefiting from playing them multiple times. It is curious, though, that three teams have played them a total of 17 times, which is almost a quarter of their games in a 60-team league.
OK, now I'm reasonably sure that it's an exploit. All of those three teams played this team multiple times, usually every third day, shortly after joining the Entry Pool. Winterhaven Night Train hit it just right, playing them four straight Mondays and three straight Thursdays right after joining. Speed Demons hit them three straight Saturdays and two of four Wednesdays. Oklahoma City Outlaws hit them three straight Fridays and two of four Wednesdays. Two of these teams joined on season day May 3, Winterhaven joined May 5.
Either these three are serious fortunate sons, or someone has figured out the scheduling algorithm. This is in Entry Pool Kappa My if anyone wants to investigate.
edit: it becomes even more obvious when looking at San Francisco's schedule. They also joined May 3 and played all of their first eight games against one of these three teams, losing by a combined score of 95-10. Either these three were lucky beneficiaries of someone's mistake or everyone should create four teams at a time, one of which is a punching bag that earns points for the other three.
