Personally I try not to touch them too much. The AI is ok, but sometimes I go more conservative on players, especially if the player is pretty well rounded. But in general I tend to only customize them for my top prospects and some guys on my active roster. Like if I have an old superstar, I'll often want to shift them out of a positional spot and not bother with their speed for example, so I take effort out of those sliders. Or if I have a closer with like 4 pitches, I'll tend to nuke one of their pitches and put its effort into their primary two
