One thing about this strategy that bothers me is that it really isn't very realistic from a player morale standpoint. No player is going to be OK with being benched completely based on home/away.
IRL, you might see a team move around its' starting pitching or something occasionally based on ballpark and maybe a position player won't start as often...but there is no situation where a player is flat out benched from starting based on the ballpark.
So, if a strategy like this was implemented it should include a pretty significant morale hit if playing with that option.
