Nacional outhit Agraria, México slip by Puebla
July 6, 1925 - México, Federal District

Game 1 - Agraria vs Nacional
After a low scoring Opening Day, Agraria and Nacional came out swinging for the fences in the first game of the day! Luis Mellado threw 2 full innings for Nacional, allowing 7 runs before being replaced in the 3rd. Gerardo Rodríguez lasted 5 and two thirds himself, also allowing 7 runs to score. Andrés Vargas locked it down for Nacional in the final innings, while Eliodoro Reyna gave them the lead with a single in the 8th. Nacional take it 10-8 in an absolute classic! They are now 2-0, pushing Agraria to 0-2.

Game 2 - México vs 74 Regimiento de Puebla
Game two was the complete opposite. Rafael Castillo put in a shift for Club México, allowing just 4 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings and two thirds. Oscar Martínez had a similar outing for 74 Regimiento, with 6 hits and 2 walks scattered in 7 and a third innings of work. The difference was that Martínez allowed a double from Francisco Guzmán with Marco Gabriel on base, resulting in the only run of the game. Club México's win takes them to 2-0, with Puebla moving to 0-2.

Game 3 - Guanajuato vs Águila de Veracruz
In the final game, Guanajuato overcome a first inning run in great fashion. Cuban José Méndez pitches 8.2 with just 7 hits, a walk and a run. Meanwhile, a good offense, including Francisco Carmona going 4-5, propels Guanajuato past Veracruz. A 7-1 win makes both Guanajuato and Veracruz 1-1.
