FWIW one is still releasing every (?) year.. Baseball Mogul The other was Pure Sim. Both games had users that preferred those games over OOTP.
For years Markus was criticized, almost every decision he made was going to be the end of OOTP. He was a German, what did he know about baseball? DIPS and saber metrics? end of OOTP.
Going to SI? Really OOTP is going to run on a soccer engine? Baseball in Ghana? end of OOTP.
Graphics, MLB license, PT, etc. etc. etc.? end of OOTP.
Now we're down to not selling old versions at a cheap price? Really? That's the bad business model/decision that is going to hurt OOTP? Ok.
Good thing was WHEN OOTP failed Pure Sim or Mogul would be there to continue on with a text based baseball game. You know, what the users wanted.
