It'll be an outdated client until you can updated to version 26.2.50.8 from the App Store. Another thing to try is force close and reopen the App Store so it needs to fully reload.
When you mention turning it off, I just want to make sure you fully restarted the iPad by long holding the power button + volume button, then "slide to power off", and not just turned the screen off?
