I am on my third alltime allstar league.

In OOTP3, the first was composed of the 16 original teams, 3 black allstar teams and the Southern Association alltime allstars (I was a ballboy in the Mobile Bears bullpen).

The research to put in players ratings and have very accurate game ratings took 6 months working about 6 hours a day on it.

The Chicago White Sox beat the New York Yankees for the title.
Sox had better pitching.

Then for OOTP5 I created 4 leagues of alltime allstars, using each original franchise and 4 composite expansion teams...each team had a farm team in AAA, AA and A...all complete leagues...2000 players in all...I useds Pierre's player import editor to promote and demote players at the end of the season.

In the first season, Cleveland beat the Pirates for the title...better pitching again.
In the second season, the Yanks swept expansion Milwaukee Brewers (composite of NY Mets and Brewers).

I then discovered that importing players with Pierre's editor brought their other league stats with them and messed up my career leaders stats and also the players html pages would show the players real MLB stats history...my ignorance probably caused this...Pierre's editor is great.

Keeping track of 2000 players is too hard, so I devised a 20 team league with fictional players and each real rookies added each season. I simmed 12 seasons, but really couldn't learn the players and really don't like the way the AI subs position players and uses the pitchers (too many double switches and relievers...starters don't relieve...relievers don't start (1950's baseball was not that way), so I decided to go to my current league.

This time I will have only 12 teams, each with only 20 man rosters...8 pitchers and 12 position players...and I will play out all games so I can make all substitutions, including using relievers as starters and vice-versa.

I have spent the last two weeks creating the rosters and inputing the player ratings. Only 3 more teams to go and then it's opening day.

The Yankees are awesome...Berra, Dickey, Gehrig, Mattingly, Gordon, Lazzeri, McDougald (utility infielder that can sub for the others), Jeter, Ruth, DiMaggio, Mantle, and Combs. With the 20 player roster I need a good utility infielder that can play 2B, 3B and SS. That's why McDougald made the team over some of the other great Yankees.

Pitchers are Ford, Gomez, Guidry, Stottlemyre, Rivera, Lyle, Gossage and Righetti.

After the first season, each of the 12 teams will participate in a draft for players of the expansion teams and several original franchises that were not included. Only a few players will be drafted each year...around 3 for each team.

Eventually I will work in Negro, Japanese and alltime minor league allstars.
