The "max" has always been above the max (if that makes sense). So a "500" in the internal scale is around an 80, and basically the 501-600 section are the ratings above 80 (give or take some rounding). So yeah, the new 600 "internal maximum" maps to like a 95 on the 20-80 scale.

For Skenes, the value you see on pitches are the raw ratings combined with other values (velocity for FB, movement is mixed in for some other pitches), so you don't need a 500 internal FB rating to have a 500 view FB rating if they are a high velo arm.

In the grand scheme of things, the switch from 550 to 600 means very little. It'd only really come in for Babe Ruth-like players, but it was moreso done so that we had a little bit of extra flexibility in those ranges, so that the jump from like a 500 to a 505 wasn't as massive when players "overrun" that lower internal value.
