They look similar to the somewhat popular 1890s Black Stockings women's team but I don't think it's them since the only image I found of them was from 1891 but I wouldn't know as it seemed like players came and went off of the Black Stockings as their team was managed by an individual named Sylvester Wilson who would do terrible things to the players.

A quick search on Newspapers.com turned up the Chicago Red Stockings playing the Portland (Maine) club in August 1891, with players including Kittie Grant, Edna Mayves, Annie Grant, Alice Lee, and Rose Mitchell. Their uniforms were described as "black blousesand stockings, red and black stripped skirts reaching to the knee, and caps of the same material." This sounds like the club pictured. I'll post a snapshot of the article later today if I get a chance.
