August 23-25, 2033: at Houston (3)
Game 1: 11-10 W. WP-Buckman (9-2, 5.1 8 5 5 1 5). S-R.Rodriguez (32). HR-Pino (17/38), Y.Alvarez (24). A wild one that saw Buckman put the Rays in a 5-0 hole after 1 only for his mates to put 9 on the board in the 4th (including a 465-foot, 3-run shot from Pino) before nearly blowing an 11-5 lead. Tampa Bay was the beneficiary of 11 walks issued by Houston pitching.
Game 2: 4-3 W. WP-Vargas (6-1). S-R.Rodriguez (33). Starter-Stone (4.2 6 3 3 2 3). HR-Y.Alvarez (25), Rutschman (19). Yordan had a 3-run homer as he stayed blazing hot and Rutschman's 6th-inning clout broke a 3-3 tie.
Game 3: 2-6 L. LP-Boyle (2-1). Starter-Acosta (4.2 3 2 2 3 3). HR-Cedillos (7). It was a 2-2 game in the 8th and one the Rays should have been leading having left 12 on base before Boyle loaded the bases and Ogando came in and gave up a grand slam to lose it.
Team record: 78-49. The lead on the Yankees stands at 1 1/2 games. Next up: Off to St. Louis for 3 against the 72-55 and NL Central-leading Cardinals.
