Week 12: July 11-22

....Nokelto 2-3 Akashemo - 1-10, 6-8, 2-9, 9-7, 5-4
.....Kupore 2-3 Lutrul - 4-5, 1-2, 19-1, 2-1, 1-4

National 20, Aroketsil Spirits 0: I think in the annals of history, we will view this as the game that ended the title race. It's only July 14 as this is happening, but Oaks fans are celebrating. National SP Lohy Awia threw a 3-hitter while his team unloaded a six-homer, 21-hit performance on Spirits pitching.

National 13, Aroketsil Spirits 1: Stop, stop, they're already dead! National RF Pumona Kakosuta becomes the first player in the EL this season to record six hits in a single game, going 6-6 with a two-run homer and a pair of two-run doubles to drive in 6 altogether. With two hits the previous day, Kakosuta outhit the entire Spirits team over a period of two games, 8 to 7. No EL player has ever recorded 7 hits in a game, so that's something to look out for.

Round 24:
.....Kupore 1-4 Semyof - 1-5, 1-8, 10-7(11), 1-7, 4-6
Mighty Oaks 3-2 Akashemo - 9-10, 8-5, 6-1, 9-5, 1-4
..Sh.Eagles 4-1 National - 13-8, 6-5, 4-2, 6-1, 3-4(10)
....Cheshek 1-4 Amnanache - 4-1, 3-7, 2-4, 3-4, 0-4
..A.Spirits 1-4 Keleri - 10-2, 7-9, 5-11, 3-5, 4-5
.....Hokrof 4-1 Muni - 3-2, 4-3(10), 4-2, 5-4, 5-10
....Nokelto 2-3 Pasataki - 4-0, 0-5, 2-7, 8-13, 13-4
.A.Canaries 4-1 Lutrul - 8-1, 8-5(10), 2-1, 4-5(10), 9-3
....Fampalo 1-4 Kepmem - 5-2, 3-5, 3-4, 3-6, 3-5
....Sitache 1-4 Tsapna - 3-12, 4-5, 1-6, 11-6, 4-10

Keleri take four of five in the weekend's marquee series, pulling to within two games of the second-place Spirits. The Oaks, meanwhile, have increased their lead to ten games. This is also the first series win for the Canaries since... the last time they faced Lutrul, back in round 18. If Lutrul were to get relegated (and they're now just four games clear) this will be something to look back on.

Eagles 13, National 8: Eagles CF Pamaso Soreko has a double, two home runs, and 7 RBI in this series-opening road win. Soreko is only in the lineup due to an injury to regular CF Pomi Peshti, and hasn't had a great year, but took advantage here. The Eagles scored 11 runs in the final three innings, overcoming what had been a 5-2 deficit.

Sitache 11, Tsapna 6: Sitache CF Rolupi Shekesu smashes three home runs from the leadoff spot to power his club to a win. The first two were solo shots, one leading off the game, and the third was a grand slam that broke a 4-2 game open. Unfortunately, it was Sitache’s only win in the series!

The title race feels over, to be honest, but there's plenty more to play for. Will the Spirits surpass their all-time bests of 111 wins and 4th place? Or Cheshek, with their bests of 110 wins and 6th place? Will Keleri extend their streak of finishing in the top 3 to eight straight years? Can Pasataki break the record for most wins by a newly promoted team by surpassing 2013 Nokir's 108-82 mark?

And of course, who will be relegated? Muni and the Canaries' seasons look well and truly over, but a 6-4 week from Semyof has pulled them within one game of safety. 70 games left to see who else will get the drop! IMO, only the top 8 teams are truly safe, although it would take a big collapse from Akashemo or Kupore to go down from this point. It typically takes around 75 wins to secure EL safety, though last season Wikyats Athletic tied the best record for a relegated team at 79-111. Muni is expecting to have CF Solo Sipet back for the start of their round 26 series vs. neighbors National. There's a big hole to climb, but... maybe?
