Fowler, Ghouls Wallop 75ers in Game 1 of ASF
The The Slog Ghouls started the Association Semifinal Round in style, downing the visiting Bunker Hill 75ers at Tarberry Field Forever by a score of 6-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Ghouls third baseman Shirt Fowler went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3.
A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Fowler hit a curveball from Jason Tonelli for a 2-run single, putting The Slog up, 4-0.
The Slog manager Nate Pugh praised his team's "businesslike approach."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tarberry Field Forever in The Slog.
Game 2: Bunker Hill 7, The Slog 4
Bunker Hill Win Evens Series at 1
With right fielder Deerlord Fugivmee leading the charge, the Bunker Hill 75ers got a road win over the The Slog Ghouls, 7-4, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round. Fugivmee was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 at Tarberry Field Forever to help Bunker Hill force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Fugivmee had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth, when he hit a 2-run single. The 75ers went on to win.
"Solid performance from our side," said 75ers manager Nick Radio.
Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston.
Game 3: The Slog 5, Bunker Hill 4
Road Win Lifts The Slog to 2-1 Lead in ASF
The The Slog Ghouls moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series, downing the Bunker Hill 75ers on the road at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium by a score of 5-4. Ghouls left-hander Scott Fuhr had a strong outing. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Ghouls a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Gavin Deux-Gas? The The Slog shortstop had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Ghouls on top, 4-2. For the game, Deux-Gas had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Bunker Hill manager Nick Radio.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium in Boston.

Ghouls Win Association Semifinal Round
The Association Semifinal Round may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The The Slog Ghouls, however, are not complaining.
The Ghouls were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Bunker Hill 75ers to advance to the Association Championship Series.
The Slog won the final game by a 8-0 count at Battle of Bunker Hill Memorial Stadium and the series 3-1.
Ghouls center fielder Bill Lazarus was named series MVP, as he hit .500 with a .500 on-base percentage. He added 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 6 runs.
"It's not going to be the last time Bunker Hill makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Lazarus said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day."
The The Slog Ghouls will play against the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud in the next round. Fort Hagen won their series against the Lexington Synths 3 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.

Game 1: Fort Hagen 3, Lexington 2
Road Win Lifts Fort Hagen to 1-0 Lead in ASF
The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud powered past the hometown Lexington Synths, 3-2, in the opener of the Association Semifinal Round at Super Duper Mart Stadium. Fort Hagen starting pitcher Sarthis Idren threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Silver Shroud now lead the series 1-0.
Orcin Cardinal, who finished 2nd in the NCA in RBI with 102 in 2305, had a direct impact on the outcome. Cardinal contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put Fort Hagen up, 3-2.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Cardinal.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Super Duper Mart Stadium in Lexington.
Game 2: Lexington 5, Fort Hagen 0
Raucous Super Duper Mart Stadium Crowd Propels Synths to 5-0 Victory; Series Tied at 1
The Lexington Synths knotted up the Association Semifinal Round at Super Duper Mart Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Admiral Kelm. Kelm quieted the Fort Hagen Silver Shroud, enabling Lexington to grab the 5-0 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Kelm gave Lexington a blue-ribbon performance. The 6-foot-4 right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 7.2 innings of work.
"Admiral pitched his heart out," said Lexington manager Brandon Salinas.
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 9th , 2314 at Hubris Comics Park in Fort Hagen.
Game 3: Fort Hagen 9, Lexington 1
Cardinal, Silver Shroud Wallop Synths in Game 3 of ASF
The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series, downing the visiting Lexington Synths at Hubris Comics Park by a score of 9-1. Silver Shroud right fielder Orcin Cardinal did some major damage. He was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win gives the Silver Shroud a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.
Cardinal went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once against the Synths. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a 3-run home run that put Fort Hagen in front, 3-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Cardinal, "and then get after it again."

Game 4: Fort Hagen 6, Lexington 5
Silver Shroud Heading to Association Championship Series
The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud are riding high after knocking off the Lexington Synths in the Association Semifinal Round.
"We're feeling confident now and that's half the battle," said Orcin Cardinal, who was named series MVP. "You play confidently, you play well and it shows up with results like this."
Fort Hagen won the final game by a 6-5 count at Hubris Comics Park and the series 3-1.
For the series, Cardinal hit .429 with a .529 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The Fort Hagen Silver Shroud don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the The Slog Ghouls - Bunker Hill 75ers series. The Slog leads the series 2 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.

Association Semifinal Round Game 1 Victory for Million and Vault 81
The Association Semifinal Round got off to a quiet start, with the host Vault 81 Dwellers taking a low-scoring, 2-0 win over the Atom Cats. Vault 81 right-hander Zack Million was marvelous at CURIE Inc. Field. The Dwellers now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.
Million, a native of Dover, New Hampshire, was dealing all game. He kept Atom hitters off-balance, while giving the Dwellers 8 quality innings. Million threw 92 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 6.
"We've got a great group of guys," Million said, "and we're having fun right now."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at CURIE Inc. Field in Boston.
Game 2: Vault 81 3, Atom 2
Vault 81 Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
The Vault 81 Dwellers got a strong game from starter Exxie Summerset, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.
The Dwellers took the 3-2 win over the Atom Cats in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Summerset. Summerset threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball in the win, which gave the Dwellers a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.
Pockets Wrench was the walk-off hero for Vault 81. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Dwellers right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We had a good game plan," Summerset said, "and we were able to execute it."
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Coolest Field in Town in Atom Cats Garage.
Game 3: Vault 81 4, Atom 2
Dwellers Move on to Association Championship Series
The Vault 81 Dwellers have swept the Atom Cats and are on to the Association Championship Series. Vault 81 won 4-2 today at Coolest Field in Town to clinch the Association Semifinal Round.
"We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Vault 81 shortstop End Yamada, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning."
Yamada won the award with a .545 batting average and a .643 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 2 runs.
The Vault 81 Dwellers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the FHE Yao Guai - Quincy Gunners series. FHE leads the series 2 games to 1. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.

Hall, Quincy Open ASF Strong with 10-4 Win
The Quincy Gunners started the Association Semifinal Round in style, downing the visiting FHE Yao Guai at The Stone House by a score of 10-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Gunners left fielder Alchemist Hall was 5 for 6 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3.
In the bottom of the third, Quincy shortstop Pipewrench Mathis had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Mathis stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Quincy. For the game, he was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Mathis.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Stone House in Quincy.
Game 2: FHE 14, Quincy 3
Dahlia Blasts Gunners, Yao Guai Take Game 2, 14-3
With left fielder Blue Dahlia leading the charge, the FHE Yao Guai got a road win over the Quincy Gunners, 14-3, in Game 2 of the Association Semifinal Round. Dahlia went 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 at The Stone House to help FHE force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
A key moment came with no one out in the top of the eighth. That's when Dahlia hit a fastball from Ghost Kyudalson for a grand slam home run, putting FHE up, 13-3.
"It was a tough day, no getting around it," said losing manager Scrappy Barios.
Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at BosCom Circle in Fairline Hill Estates.
Game 3: FHE 6, Quincy 5
Gunners Hammered by Espinosa, Drop Game 3 to Yao Guai
The FHE Yao Guai moved to within one game of the Association Championship Series, downing the visiting Quincy Gunners at BosCom Circle by a score of 6-5. Yao Guai third baseman Rocket Arm Espinosa did some major damage. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win gives the Yao Guai a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Association Semifinal Round.
Espinosa contributed in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped FHE get the win.
Gunners manager Scrappy Barios did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the Sole Survivor Series."

Game 4: Quincy 2, FHE 1
Gunners Clip Yao Guai, 2-1, in ASF Contest
The Quincy Gunners and the FHE Yao Guai will take the Association Semifinal Round to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Gunners beat the Yao Guai, 2-1, at BosCom Circle to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Quincy left-hander Make Money had a big role in the win. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball.
Money threw well for Quincy, thwarting the FHE offense. The left-hander tossed 86 pitches over 7 innings. He allowed just 1 run on 2 hits.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Money said after the game.
The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 13th , 2314 at The Stone House in Quincy.
Game 5: Quincy 3, FHE 2
Gunners Advance to Association Championship Series
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at The Stone House as the Association Semifinal Round stretched to the final game.
It was the Quincy Gunners feeling the thrill of victory, with a 3-2 win over the FHE Yao Guai, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Association Championship Series.
"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said FHE manager Squirt Becker. "Congratulations to Quincy, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."
Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was left fielder Alchemist Hall, who was named MVP. He hit .429 with a .478 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.
The Quincy Gunners will play against the Vault 81 Dwellers in the next round. Vault 81 won their series against the Atom Cats 3 games to 0. The Association Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Association Semifinal Round finishes.
