Switch hitter Frank Gibson made his debut with the Tigers in 1913. He played mainly as a catcher. After appearing in 23 games in his rookie season he reappeared 8 years later with the Boston Braves in 1921, representing them every year until finishing his Major League career after 1927.
With the exception of 1925 he played the role of back-up catcher. In 1925 he played in over 100 games for the only time in his career, normally hitting in the 8 position. His batting average appeared to suffer as a regular dipping to .276. Before he hit .299. .300 and .310 in 1922 through 1924. After he hit .340 in 1926.
Here he is with the 1924 Braves.
