But fielding percentage is merely an indicator, not a guarantee. For example, I have a shortstop (in the GForce roster set) with "B" range and a fldg. pct. of 1.000. But I've seen him make errors in games. Not many, but occasionally. If fldg. pct. was absolute and a guarantee, he'd never make any errors.

So don't expect fielding percentage to guarantee the number of errors a player makes over the course of a season. It's a good indicator of that percentage number, but nothing more. Luck and random chance still continue to play a part.
