Getting my feet wet by just playing as Minor League Manager.

In my 2nd season; after each couple of games, my SS (and first back up) and 2/3 of my bullpen get cleared out of my lineups/pitching. (Bullpen to 'Not Assigned')

Is there a setting I missed somewhere? This didn't happen in my first season and I don't think I changed anything. I'm also not receiving any notifications that the players in question got moved to/from my team.
