Here is a 1924 image of catcher Benny Bengough with the Yankees.
Bengough was a Major League catcher for 10 seasons, starting with the 1923 Yankees. Normally in a back-up role he never appeared in more than 100 games in a season. After playing in just 30 games combined in 1923 and 1924 as a back-up to Wally Schang he did become the Yankees prime catcher in 1925, a role he never repeated.
After completing 8 seasons with the Yankees he joined the Browns as a back-up in 1931 &1932.
His League Leading fielding percentage as a catcher in 1925 did earn him MVP consideration.
