Game 4: Boston Americans vs. Cleveland Naps

On a rainy evening before an announced crowd of 5,148 fans, it was another solid early-season road win for the Boston Americans (3-1) as they finished off the series with a 5 to 3 victory over the hometown Cleveland Naps (1-3).

Veteran pitcher Jesse Tannehill (1-0) picked up the win after allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out 6 in the 125-pitch complete game victory; Game Score 70. Jim Hughes (0-1) was saddled with the loss after serving up 5 earned runs on 13 hits, 5 walks, and 1 hit batsman; Game Score 37.

For the second consecutive game, Boston catcher Frank Chance (4 for 5, Triple, Run, 3 RBIs) had an outstanding game. Additionally, Chick Stahl (1 for 3, Triple, 2 Runs, 2 Walks), Fred Clarke (2 for 4, RBI, Walk), and Danny Shay (2 for 2, Run, Sacrifice Bunt, Hit-by-Pitch, Stolen Base) played well in victory. Jake Beckley (2 for 3, 2 Doubles, RBI) and Lew Drill (1 for 3, Run, Walk) had a solid night.
