It's not restricted to the KBO, however it is certainly heavily modeled on that system (everyone non-foreign player has a mandatory 1-1.5 yr military service to complete before age 32, with some ways to get exemptions). So it wouldn't exactly mimic WW2, where some players went away for 3-4 years, but you probably could try it as a sort of alternate storyline in your league.
