TBH, if he won't begin to heal until June no matter what, I probably would have stuck him on IR and left him there until Feb/March with the hopes that we could hold the fort without him (we are 18-2-0 right now).

Moving him to IR will start the timer. It used to not, but they fixed that with an update in FHM10 and I did test it in FHM11, still seems to be the case.
