It was a good day for the Toronto Blue Jays and an exceptional one for Mario Lopez(2.5/3.5*). The 23-year-old center fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Blue Jays beat the New York Mets, 7-2, at Skydome.

"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Lopez said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."

For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats.

Mario Lopez hit a solo-shot off Andy Siler in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Andy Siler in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Hector Elias in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th.

At present, the #83 prospect prior to the season is batting .249 and has collected 10 home runs, 29 RBIs, .305 OBP and scored 32 runs.
