I just found textilemonster's list that you are referring to.

Click this and then click the link in it to get to his list. The only drawback is that he used the Lahman ID, instead of the player's name. His list is very thorough, (2800 players) and has a lot more obscure players than mine. Mine, however adds a "close enough" element for cities not in the game that his doesn't.
