Cincinnati and
Montreal got after it at Olympic Stadium.
Andy Spicer pitched a gem to lead
Cincinnati to victory over the
Montreal Expos, 7-1. The winning pitcher was
Spicer, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 1-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. The 34th overall pick in the 2017 draft was named the #28 prospect prior to the season.
"I went out and just tried to do my job," said
Spicer.
Cincinnati is now 15-6.
Danny Tutton had a key at-bat with one out in the top of the second for
Cincinnati. With the bases loaded and the
Eagles leading 1-0, he hit a sacrifice fly. Traded over from
Montreal in the offseason, he is batting .213-1-7 .508OPS in 17 games.

Montreal got a strong outing from
Victor Lopez as the
Expos defeated the
Cincinnati Eagles, 2-1, at Olympic Stadium. The righty went 6.1 innings of scoreless 3-hit ball.
Montreal reliever
Ryan Rasbach picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0, but blew his first save of the year.
Jimmy McMahon was saddled with the loss.
Montreal goes to 8-13.
Vinny Roman was the walk-off hero for
Montreal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the
Expos third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home. He was 2-4 with two RBI’s in the contest.
"This place sure got loud," said Aaron McCreery, the
Montreal manager.
