Understanding new ratings and resulting stats

Hi all,
I'm finally digging into v25 after some time away and feeling a bit overwhelmed with the changes in how ratings are calculated. I'd love some advice.

Specifically, I like to play a Hall of Fame League with HOF-elected players only. I will import a player based on a peak season, then adjust the ratings in the player editor to match a typical 5- to 7-year peak. Looking at them after importing to the new version, the stats are different.

Take Ty Cobb, for example. I don't have the exact figures from v24, but I'd have entered a typical peak season, something like:

550AB, 215H, 35 2B, 15 3B, 25 HR, 60BB, 40K, .391/.451/.645
(I like to boost power somewhat for dead-ball hitters)

Resulting stats in v25 show:
550AB, 184H, 41 2B, 13 3B, 16HR, 53BB, 84K, .335/.399/.544

Pretty big difference. Is the adjustment for league level, era neutralizing, what?

Also, you have:
Expected current (Hall of Fame League):
32 2B, 23 3B, 19HR, 55BB, 51K, .345/.412/.598
Expected talent:
31 2B, 22 3B, 8HR, 48BB, 64K, .326/.384/.516

What's the difference between these?
I have my league stats adjusted to a hitter/pitcher balance that I like. I assume one of these indicates expected stats in that league. The first one?

Lastly, I'm curious how to go about entering new HOF players in v25. When Ichiro gets in, how should I enter his peak ratings to assume he's fairly represented. I've always simply checked the stats in the ratings editor, but if that doesn't work, the new guys could be unfairly overrated/underrated.

Thanks for any help on how these are shown.
