I've played the "DFA shuffle" from time to time, where you DFA a guy who's potentially helpful depth, then wait out the DFA period, then briefly add him back to the roster, rinse and repeat.
And I've certainly shamelessly manipulated service time many a time...
And benched players that are about to reach their vesting options for the rest of the season if I don't want them back
